FRIESZ (Achille-Emile, called Othon). Painter,... - Lot 192 - Jonquet
FRIESZ (Achille-Emile, called Othon). Painter, 1879-1949. L.A.S. to his friend the collector Pédron. Brown Cape, s.d. (Autumn 1924), 4 pp. in-4. This letter is decorated with several pen-and-ink drawings. Friesz pities his friend suffering from furunculosis. "I am sending you a watercolour of Condon to refresh your eyesight, to distract you from your filthy nails... I painted it a bit quickly to send it to you and in a pinch.... to encourage you to come and see him during his convalescence". For him things are going well... "my fortune has blossomed again. The collector Latil is infatuated with me, he bought four paintings from me. The lawyer Jeanson from Brussels wants to choose some things.... I have a great sadness to see these children hardly born, hatched in the joy or the difficulty to leave me ...., etc ". The slip of the bookshop is attached: autographs and historical documents, rue Bonaparte.
