The camp of the Cloth of Gold is the name given to the diplomatic meeting that took place between Francis I and Henry VIII of England from June 7 to 24, 1520 in a place located in northern France at Balinghen near Calais between Ardres (France) and Guines (English at the time). It was a display of festivities to attempt an alliance between the kingdoms of France and England against the power of Charles V. Beautiful frame of pompons. Beautiful border with fruits and composition of flowers and foliage (which can be found in the borders of the tapestries with aristoloche called cabbage leaves). Expert: Mr FranK KASSAPIAN Condition report: Restorations well done. Quite beautiful freshness of colours. Tapestry correctly retracted.
